This is the worst experience I've ever had. A total scam.

"South Coast Van Lines" aka "Royal Relocation"

You have to come up with new company names when enough people talk about what a despicable company you run.

-5 stars. -all the stars in the sky.

This is without a doubt the most horrific experience I've ever had. The absolute worst company you could ever dream of doing business with.

When the movers showed up they went through, looked at everything, identified a few additional charges (minor), and then started working. When they got through about 45 minutes I was told that my quote was going to go from $2,600 to $4,580 because of some furniture wrapping that I didn't take care of myself. It was not mentioned beforehand, and I felt genuinely worried if I didn't agree to it, but I made it 100% clear that I refused to pay even a penny more for any additional charge that they could possibly come up with. The guy told me that under no circumstance would I be charged for anything else in addition.

It's been 2 weeks and first of all, the company almost never answers the phone if I don't call from a different number than my own. I'm now being told that I have to pay $100 for a COI that I told them upfront was required by my building. The COI costs them absolutely nothing to obtain from their insurance company. I also required them to include the shuttle costs or potential additional fees in my original quote, but now I'm being told that I need to pay an additional shuttle fee because the one in the quote was "only for pickup". I have a very clear email record of the quote and me making it clear to the rep (Kim) that I wanted those fees included in said quote.

The guy who called me today (from a DIFFERENT moving company) told me that if I didn't want to pay it all, I wasn't going to get my stuff. I explained my original quote and he said he didn't care, and the next thing he said was "Well, do you want all your stuff or not? We can leave it on the street for you if you'd prefer that" and then it was "you can get your own truck and just come pick it up from a storage unit in a different state." The shuttle quote they originally gave me was $200, and now it's magically $670 if I want to have my stuff delivered.

Kim told me that it was South Coast Van Lines that handled everything. She was never upfront and honest about the fact that they were a broker.

Don't be fooled by Kim for one second. She was wonderful when we first spoke and she swore to me that they were an honest and reputable moving company. Joke's on me for believing her.

No idea who "Katia" is, but she's the rudest and most dishonest person I've dealt with throughout this whole fiasco. "READ YOUR CONTRACT!" "IT'S IN YOUR CONTRACT!" -- yeah, well, F**K YOUR CONTRACT, Katia. I didn't agree to work with a scam artist in my contract.

I've already filed complaints with the BBB and the FSCMA. I'll be filing a police report shortly just to protect myself. I don't know if they know this or not, but extortion is illegal. Bribery is illegal. Threatening people and telling them they are going to keep your things is ILLEGAL.

I would have been better off carrying my belongings from California to New York.

Do yourself a favor and don't even think about using this company. I am going to be posting reviews on every website I can possibly find.

Broken Item RUDE SERVICE.

Worst moving company EVER, I would not tell my worst enemy to move with this company. Very Rude mover's & people who work in there office. They broke a major Item of mind didn't contact me, found out when they took it off there truck after taking my final payment. After calling to talk to some one they directed me to file a claim which can take up to 90days in which I didn't take 90days to pay them for unsatisfied service. They gave me a over the phone estimate after putting my stuff on there truck the estimate double. When demanding to talk to the owner or some one that could help me understand there policies they rudely hung up on me. PLEASE PEOPLE GO ELSE WHERE WITH YOUR MONEY by the way I posted a complant on the BBB still fighting them with my issue.

Apologies to Royal Relocation.

Our apologies and thanks to the determined and persistent staff of “Royal Relocation” in Tarzana, California for their patience and sympathetic support.
After our move, we discovered a precious piece of antique furniture was what we thought, “lost forever.” My Wife and I were unquestionably upset and probably not too understanding during our inquire to “Royal Relocation.” They convencingly assured us that they could and would find our lost item and ship it to us. They encouraged us to be patient and they would do their job.
Their diligent efforts and persistence in finding our lost furniture really payed off. Several weeks later our lost furniture showed up at our doorstep! “Royal Relocation really came through as promised." We can't thank them enough for their understanding, patience and devotion in helping us get through this ordeal. “Thank you Royal Relocation” and please except our sincere apologies.

Do Not Use This Company!!

This company is by far THE WORST moving company I've ever hired! My move was quoted at $2100.00. Royal relocations was suppose pick up my things between 30 AUG and 1 SEPT. They didn't show up until 2 SEPT the day I was moving from CA. I was only suppose to pay $1,100 that day but my move suddenly increased to $5200.00. I didn't have that many items. The mover Ben yelled at me the entire time he was in my home demanded I leave him and his workers alone in my apartment to get the money order. He had my 11yr old daughter in tears. The only reason I proceeded with the move is because our flight was leaving that night. Once I arrived to MD I called J &J Moore the company that booked me with these people. I explained to Gabby how horrible I was treated and that I had audio of Ben yelling and threatening to take my things off his tuck. She told me she would get to the bottom of it and request paper work to see why I was being charged so much. After two weeks of calling her she still never received my paperwork, I had zero answers as to where my things were. The dispatch at royal relocations IRENA has also been of no help. she has yelled at me, threated me, and never gave me information as to where my belongings were. I have over 30 recorded calls with this woman lying and yelling. Finally after a month of waiting I get a call that my things would be delivered 10/6/18. 32 DAYS AFTER PICK UP!! I called the police to have them there with me because this company is FRAUDULENT and outright unsafe. The driver immediately demanded that I give him $2,775 before letting me see my things! Thank god my boyfriend and the officers were there because they demanded I see my things before I give them a dime. Once he opened the truck devastation is the only way I can describe the way I felt. My things were thrown in that truck HORRIBLY. Fragile boxes turned the wrong way, my brand new mattress was busted. They put my California king head board on top of both flat screen tvs! All of my items were brand new! I just got out of the military and started over fresh. They destroyed everything. I refused to pay them another dime and Irena (Dispatch) was LIVID! she began calling my phone yelling at me and THE POLCE! She said because I didn't pay the $2775 balance that my things are on its way back to CA to be auctioned off. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM!! PLEASE BEWARE!! I will do everything in my power to get them out of business. I reported them to BBB which they aren't even BBB accredited. I have a police report and a lawyer. Irena thinks she is above the law. Fortunately I am a fighter and I wont stop until I get what's mine!!

Long-distance move from California to New York

Very Unsatisfied Customer.

I also had an extremely bad situation with this company and Im disappointed in myself for not doing my homework on these idiots. I reviewed all of the aforementioned reviews and they are all consistent with what I experienced only worse. They gave me a quote for a cross country move. Once they loaded all my belongings on the vehicle the price suddenly doubled. Sound familiar. The Office Manager, if you want to call her that is the rudest manager I have ever encountered. give ultimatums, threatens to hold your belongings hostage. She is confrontational. I reported her to the owner and he said that she would be fired. Turns out that she is a relative (Owners Wife). If the word nighmare means anything to you at all "Stay as far away from these people as possible" They stole my daughters new cell phone (Still in the box and not activated) and then tried to tell me I was a liar. turns out I called AT&T and they said the cell phone had been activated that evening and it was activated from a cell tower in Encino, California. This is where Royal Relocations headquarters are. I reported this to them and they proceeded to curse me out. When my belongings arrived they were all busted up. Glass tables broken. Legs broken off couches. Dishes shattered. They even attempted to put things in my house that didn't even belong to me. I told them about it and they didn't care. I ended up kicking them out of my house on the day of delivery with my furnature still on the truck. It was that bad. Listen to what the reviews tell you and you will save yourself a whole lot of agony and hardship. Its just not worth it. its even more amazing that these people are still in business.

Royal Relocation Royal Ripoff.

Royal Relocation is a Royal Ripoff. Demanded 3000.00 for a 900.00 bid. Refused to honor the contract provisions. Threatened to unload the furniture and leave it on the curb unless we agreed to pay at least double. Refused to weigh the firniture and lied about weight and cubic feet of furniture. Even sent a driver with no driver's license. Extremely rude and unprofessional. Then delivered two weeks late. .

Bad experience like everyone else.

I was charged $1700.00 and ended up paying close to $4000.00 to get my stuff here. They were late (3 weeks in my new place with none of my belongings), that witch in the office was EXTREMELY rude, using profanity and threatening me over the phone. I have never received such horrible service..if you can even call it that. I felt like I'd been raped.

THEN, I get my stuff and pictures are broken, furniture broken and a pair of Coach sunglasses missing. I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy.

Long-distance move from New York to Oregon

Royal Relocation Systems Cross Country Move.

Open Letter to Royal Relocation Systems:

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing you regarding my recent experience with Royal Moving and Storage as the damage done to my belongings was both abysmal and irreparable. Your company was hired through Verizon Van Lines, who unfortunately never indicated that they would be hiring a third party to move my belongings. Dealing with your employees, I was in constant shock at the awful way in which everything was treated. And it was with tears in my eyes that I unpacked my belongings in Portland only to find family heirlooms and items I spent months of hard work to save up and buy, completely ruined. It would have been just as well for me to have taken everything to a dumpster before leaving New York and throw it out; the movers treated the things I cherish with all my heart like they were trash.

The sadness and humiliation I felt to have believed your company would do as it preaches - "Maintain a 100% Commitment to Quality" - was overwhelming. I wrote the name of one mover down - Igor M** of Brooklyn, New York - who did a particularly haphazard job and was incredibly rude to me. I have written reviews on Twitter, Facebook, Google , online moving forums and contacted the United States Better Business Bureau. I have also ensured no one I know will ever use your services again, unfortunate for you considering I have dozens of friends from college moving from the east to the west coast in the next one to two years.

The workers who boxed my stuff (Igor and team) did a worse job than I myself could have done and made snide, incredibly offensive and inappropriate comments the entire time. One such comment was when I noticed Igor throwing my things into a box. I pleaded with him to "Please be careful as they are very breakable," to which he replied "Don't worry, we'll just break them" and laughed. I assumed he was making a (bad) joke, but clearly he was serious. I rest at night only knowing there is justice in this world and karma is karma. Though I ask you to question who you employ, it is these movers that face consequences either in their futures on this earth, or beyond.

My belongings also arrived well past the "Guaranteed Arrival Date" of July 14, 2011, instead arriving on July 27th, 2011, nearly two weeks late. I say arrived lightly as it was far more complicated that it should have been and while I thought Igor was disrespectful, the mover who drove my stuff across country was even more insolent. Despite having a statement in writing confirming my move included "Door to Door Service (Loading & UnLoading)", the movers parked over two miles from my home and refused to deliver my belongings. The road to my house is easily passable and large trucks travel on it daily. It is, in fact, one of the larger through roads in Portland, Oregon, so the mover's lack of compliance in taking this road is unforgivable. If you use Googlemaps to view the road or contact any city official, they will tell you large trucks can take this road; Mayflower delivered all of my grandparent's belongings to our home in a large semi-truck only a few years ago.

I have never been so dissatisfied with a service or more disappointed in a company in my entire life. Normally, I am proud to be an American and live in this country, but this experience made me question how such a company or group of individuals could be employed and get away with it. I hope they go to sleep ashamed. For your own business, I recommend you take into consideration the "personal PR" you are doing for yourself by providing such horrendous services. I will be posting this letter online and ensuring it shows up whenever people search your company using a major search engine. Thankfully, I have friends at both Google and Facebook to help ensure this will be done in an efficient and prompt manner.

I expect very little monetary compensation for the thousands of dollars of damages incurred in this move as you insure only 60 cents per pound. I have already felt the violation and anguish of having my belongings ruined and at this point money is a moot point. I find it very likely you will not even respond to my letter as you have shown a clear disinterest in your customers, though I suggest reevaluating this viewpoint because in America customers are taken care of.

Your business will surely fail if you continue down this route.

Regards.

Long-distance move from California to Virginia

Please save yourself from what we experienced.

PLEASE READ! Any positive reviews on this company have to be from employees themselves. They are straight lies!! My family has moved across country multiple times and this was the first time our experience was soo inexcusable. Unprofessional is an understatement! First of all the pick was 8 hours late. Then our "estimate" by Sam and the actual cost was 1500.00 more! The pick up guys were nice enough to say it ahead of time even though they are instructed to load all materials first and then say the actual cost. Reason for this is that they charge you time spent and a 400 unload fee if you choose not to proceed because you don't like or can't afford the revised cost. Secondly, we had a specific window we needed our items delivered and were told it would be no problem. I even went a step further and called the day the shipment was to be triggered to ensure we were on track. The day I was expecting a 48 hour notice for delivery was in fact a call stating my shipment was being triggered! They never even sent it for delivery after the extra efforts I took to make sure we were on schedule! Our items arrived over a week late. Third, my sons guitar was lost/stolen and our flat screen was completely busted. We have to file a claim which takes up to 90 days and I promise they took their sweet [EDIT] time, when the claim was considered they offered us a settlement of 180.00 which is .60 per pound on lost or damaged items! They do not consider replacement value ONLY weight! Now our main TV is gone and they somehow think 180 justifies it. 180 wont even replace my sons guitar! I am so upset with this company, I usually would never write a review but they just keep getting worse. Our entire experience became soo negative I do not know how Ill ever choose a moving company again.

Stay Away.

First of all, the sales person of the company was not honest. The quote he said he gave me included everything and the weight limit was 1500 lb. But when another team of the company came to pick up my things I was told the weight did not matter at all. The charge was based on the volume I took. I packed my things and weighted everything to make sure they were not over 1500 lb; I left many things behind and did not pack some of the box tightly. That was upsetting already. Then my cost is almost twice as was quoted because they also added gratuities and some kind of fee during the pickup. Also they only want cash and bank checks on both ends.
3 days before the deliver day of requested and promised verbally the company called me and told me it was going to be 4 to 10 days late. I already booked my flight ticket and did not want to pay penalty of change. I stuck in the destination city for 4 more nights. The only luck of this whole thing was a friend of mine helped me out in the city to make my life a little better.
Another weird thing was the company is based in Brooklyn, New York but they don't want to use "718" area code. Instead they use "201" which is New Jersey code. When I asked why the pickup guy said 718 was not reputable!!. Go figure that out.
I will never/ever use this company again, even THEY PAY me.
Hopefully you learn my lesson and hire an honest company.

Missing Items.

I would not recommend this company to anyone. The price was tripled to what they estimated. But the worst part was so many of my items were missing. especially all my fathers tools that are not replaceable. Brand new Bathroom items (never Used). When filed a complain was talked to with foul language. If you worship your belongings I would not hire this company at all.Never received any compensation for any of my missing items that were priceless and sentimental. My Dad passed away and now all his tools and many other things are gone which were worth a lot of money.

Great Service Fast Delivery!

This was a move worth writing about. Igor and Bill P arrived on time, greeted me by name, introduced themselves and quickly got to work. Not only were they careful, fast and efficient but also very pleasant. I appreciated that fact that when they weren't certain about something, they called me to check. They also carefully wrapped several items to prevent damage.

Could a move be stress free and fun? This one certainly was.

Long-distance move from New York to Florida

Major rip off.

Due to circumstances beyond my control I was forced to relocate from NY to Florida. While searching for a moving company I came across Royal Relocation Systems located in Brooklyn NY. I investigated them through the Better Business web site and found they were in good standings and had no bad reports, or so I thought. I had a man who represented himself as the company treasure come to my home to do a binding estimate for me. After he arrived he asked me what was in my budget for my move. I explained to him that I had recently become unemployed and my son in Florida was ill and that I only had $1500.00 to work with. I also told him I was considering renting a large U-haul and doing the move myself if the cost was to high any other way. At that point he began going from room to room, opening closets ect, and creating his list. Once he was finished we sat down and he said, well I do believe we can be of service to you and fit nicely within your budget. He handed me a binding estimate for $1501.00 He was a very kind and seemingly sincere gentleman. After he left I took out all the other estimates I received, evaluated them and made my decision to hire Royal Relocation Systems. The day of the move began with a man knocking at my door and informing me he was from Royal and that we needed to do some paperwork prior to them actually loading the truck, but assured me it was strictly a formality. He placed many pages of paperwork in front of me and asked me to sign them. Now this paper work was completely blank at the time, however he told me that it was the same paperwork I had already signed with the sales man it was just going to be their copy and that they would fill it out as the move progressed. It was to consist of lists of my belongings ect. Any way after the truck was completely loaded and my car was packed and I was ready to vacate the premises, the foreman presented me with a bill that now was over double what my binding estimate was. I asked him about it and he replied that he had nothing to do with the money aspect and I would have to speak with my salesman (Paul). If he gave me a specific price then he was sure it would be honored. Well needless to say Paul was nowhere to be found and 4 days later he finally returned my call while I was in route to Florida. After going back and forth with him for weeks about all this I was finally told if I did not come up with the additional $1700.00 I would not be seeing my belongings. So at that point what choice did I have. I had contacted the company directly and never got any phone calls back and the only person that would ever talk to me was this salesman, Paul. Not only did they threaten to hold my belongings hostage, when my things did arrive several items were broken and some things had been missing. Again I called the company to file a loss on their insurance and never heard a thing back from them. This whole experience was a complete nightmare not to mention a huge financial burden that will take me months to recover from. Beware, do not ever use them and warn your friends.

Long-distance move from New York to Florida

Royally Ripped Off!

Contacted VP. John Grimaldi on 6/16/2010. He assurred me that he could pick up the move 6/24/2010 & deliver it to Florida by 6/28/2010. They were supposed to pick up between 10am- 11am, and showed up at 1:30pm. Amount was supposed to be $940.00- which John had emailed me on a binding estimate. The pickup man had my son fill out blank paperwork, which the driver later filled in erroneslously. He over charged us $280.00. My husband and son pointed it out to the driver- and he said we would recieve a corrected Bill of Lading when they reloaded the goods 6/25/2010. I called John several times and was finally able to get him to email me a copy of the correct Binding Estimate of Cost. I told John to make sure that the driver had the correct new Binding Estimate of Cost, and he assured me he would take care of it. I even called the driver twice to make sure he had the correct information, and he told me he did. But, when they delivered the furniture on July 5th, 7:00pm,(Many days later then promised) the driver refused to honor it- even though I got John Grimaldi on the phone to talk to the delivery guy. The delivery man said he never heard of John Grimaldi- and that's when I found out they use subcontractors for their moves. Check their USDOT license # 1815073,( just google USDOT) and they only have one lincensed truck! Even the Ft. Lauderdale police couldn't believe the driver didn't know who he worked for. The driver then hung up the phone on me & refused to deliver the furniture unless my son paid the overcharge of $280.00.

Long-distance move from Connecticut to California

Worst Scam Company Ever!

This has been THE WORST experience of my life! At the moment, Royal will not return phone calls and I assume they are holding my goods hostage. They were supposed to deliver today between 11 am and 1 pm and there has been no phone call and no answering of phone calls. No one has come.
The original quote was for 111 pieces at $2389. We had a total of 217 pieces, but still somehow the quote was so grossly off that our total was $7300!! (One would presume it would double at the most, totaling $4700, not $7300!)
Aside from that, the movers were unprofessional, messy, and rushed everything to the point of breaking some of my things, forgetting others, taking the wrong things, etc.
Here is a list of everything that has gone wrong to date:
-The movers forgot their own tools, so needed to use mine.
-The movers forgot the rods for the wardrobe items and hanging clothes, and therefore my vintage dresses, for which I care dearly and have collected for 15 years, are piled up at the bottom of the wardrobe box. The other hanging things belonging to my fiance are now hanging in my car, so that they would not get damaged.
-A piece of valuable art was given to me to transport in my car because the movers were afraid it would get broken. Isn't this what I hired them for?
-My bike was dropped on my solar light outside, breaking the solar light and probably scratching my bike. (photo taken with camera phone)
-My walls were gouged in two places, one scratch over 18 inches long
-My wood floor (only 3 years old) has been deeply scratched, approximately 12 inches long
-The movers left an egregious amount of THEIR trash strewn about not only my house, but the garage, the driveway, and the yard. I asked them to please sweep up their plethora of cigarette butts, which they only half did. I have photos of the other cigarette butts still left behind. Tons of moving trash, including approximately 20 empty tape rolls, and several half - full rolls, all over the house, amongst other things.
-The movers didn't eat the lunch they requested, which I paid for. They left the lunch and coffee trash (which I paid for!) strewn about the garage and yard.
-The movers broke a piece off of my bookcase, which I later found discarded in the garage. I promptly gave it to them, reminding them it was part of the bookcase, and needs to go with it!
-One of the movers tripped over a box in the kitchen, spilling the contents of the box and a tub of peppercorn seeds all over the place (a safety hazard, for humans and my cat). He left it and did nothing to clean it up.
-The movers intimidated me into a tip, which I was not warned about. I said I had bought them lunch and coffee, but they simply stared at me and waited, mutely, until I went upstairs to get them money. A woman alone with 3 men staring at her, waiting for money is NOT advisable, nor is it professional. I was and am extremely taken aback. They did not deserve a tip, but I felt I had to give one.
-They missed several things I specifically asked for them to take. They were relatively small and would not have made a difference, but were simply ignored.
-They took several things I specifically asked for them NOT to take, including: my pillows, my overnight bag (!!), my sewing things (I said I would pack them), my shoes, etc.
-At one point they packed my purse and had to go into the boxes to find it
-Random CD's were dropped on the floor and scratched. I would find them all over the house, and hand them to the movers, or place them into a pile to get packed.
-I found one of my research tapes randomly left behind on the floor. It should have gone with the others.
-The packing was generally slapdash and rushed. Movers exhibited a complete disregard for my belongings and I am expecting many things to be crushed or damaged.
-Frank promised on Wednesday that he would personally come to my house for the move. He did not.
-Frank promised over the phone to send 4 movers. Only 3 arrived.
-Frank told me, and it has been in my calendar since the original quote, that the move would take place BOTH Thursday and Friday. On Wednesday I was informed that they would only be there Thursday, causing much rush in the move.
-I was promised a stress-free move. It was certainly not.

The company agreed to take my credit card, and have already charged half the move on it. Now because of complaining, they are saying they will only take cash or postal money order unless I waive all of my rights to complain by signing a bunk 'authorization form', prior to delivery!
Stay away from this fraudulent company, whatever you do! They clearly low-ball to get your business, then jack up the price ridiculously, after assuring you they got an accurate quote from the phone call alone, without a visit. They refuse to admit or respond to complaints or do anything about it.
And any of you who have had this experience, I urge you to complain to the DOT, as I have done, so that this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Dishonest and Unethical- They don't honor their contracts- Do Not Use!

I believe that it is very possible the Royal Relocation Systems is just running a scam by using deceitful and unethical practices to get people to use them, and then raising their prices on the day of the move because they know that most people aren't flexible in their moving dates and will have no choice but to go with them. The best case scenario is that the company employs salesmen who are not competent to deliver accurate quotes, and then refuses to stand by the contracts made by these salesmen.

I am a young, single woman who need to move from New York to Chicago. I called Royal Relocation Systems to ask for a quote. Paul came to my home, made an inventory list of everything I was moving, and gave me a quote of $1,100 if a shuttle was not required in my drop off location and $1,225 if it was. (Stairs and packing materials included)

I told Paul that I had heard stories of people having quotes changed on them in the middle of a move and that I was very concerned about this and did not want any surprises. He assured me numerous times that we were signing a valid, binding contract; and as long as I didn't add anything to the move that was not already on the inventory list he made, the quoted price would not change.

For my packing materials, Paul promised to bring me 30 boxes and 3 wardrobe boxes in which to pack my things. He said he would bring the boxes the on Thursday of the next week (July 22), which would give me a couple weeks to pack.

He did not show on 3 separate occasions when we told me he would bring them, and would not answer his phone. He finally showed up on Saturday, but he only had 13 boxes and no wardrobe boxes. After more not showing up and not answering his phone, he brought 1 more wardrobe box on Wednesday. He said that the other 2 wardrobe boxes would be delivered on the day of the move and I would just have to pack them then. And if I needed any more small boxes, the movers would have those too.

On the day of the move (July 29), 3 movers came and I showed them my contract to make sure we were on the same page. They knew nothing about my inventory list and refused to honor the contract I had signed with Paul. They also didn't know that I was still waiting on 2 wardrobe boxes to pack. I had nothing more than what was on my original inventory list, but they said that the total would be $1,900 instead of $1,100 and $2,200 instead of $1,225 if a shuttle ended up being needed. They tried 3 times to get started loading before telling me what the new price would be. I think they were just trying to get my stuff loaded before telling me the true price because they thought I would have no choice but to pay after they had all of my things loaded onto their truck.

The man in charge of the movers also lied to me and tried to intimidate me into going with the new price. He said that Paul was no longer with the company, which turned out to be untrue and he said that I only had five minutes to make my decision cause "he has other moves and things he has to do and can't wait around for me." I said I wanted to talk to a supervisor, so I ended up speaking with Anthony. I asked the mover to wait until we had resolved the situation but he said he wasn't waiting and he was leaving. Anthony told me 15 minutes later that the movers were still outside my building and could do the move, but at the $1,900 price. I can only assume the mover told me he was leaving to try and scare me into going along with the move at the new price. Anthony said there was no way they could do the move for $1,100 and it didn't matter at all that I had a contract. His only explanation for why I was not given an accurate quote in the first place was that "Paul was getting a little old" and that he "might have to be let go after this." To my knowledge, he is still employed by the company.

After all of this, I no longer trusted anything Royal Relocation Systems said and did not want to do the move with them, especially not for such a high price. I was luckily able to get a last minute slot for two days later with another company, who did the entire move for $1,493.

After I didn't do the move with Royal because they wouldn't honor their contract, I then tried to get my $125 deposit back. At first, Anthony told me I would have to go to Paul's home and get the money from him myself. It took three weeks of e-mails to get them to mail me a check. And when they did, they had deducted $50 for packing supplies worth $30 and so only gave me $75 back. At no point did the company admit that they had breached a contract or done anything wrong.

Liars.

The move was less than one mile. We agreed upon the price. The guys came and they deliberately delayed, taking their own time to charge extra. They damaged few things, such as chair legs etc.. and tried to hide it. They insisted me to give 30% tip, which was a lot for their sloppy job. Which I had to give. They are not at all professional.
